I am aiming to establish the principle from the standpoint of fundamental research for practical analytical methods using near infrared and the other spectroscopies. Specific research topics in recent years are development of noninvasive spectroscopic analysis of living bodies, application of far-ultraviolet spectroscopy to food analysis, development of new science by fusion of non-destructive spectroscopic technique and metabolomics.

近赤外やその他の分光法を用いた実践的な分析法に対し，基礎研究の立場から原理の確立を目指しています．近年の具体的な研究テーマは，生体の非侵襲分光分析法の開発，遠紫外分光法の食品分析への応用，非破壊分光手法とメタボロミクスの融合による新しいサイエンスの開拓などです．
